Nina's Sea Stories

Iona – Eco Friendly and going back to her roots

Iona is named after the small beautiful Scottish Island called Iona! Chosen out of over 30,000 submissions. It is said that from every vantage of the island you can see the sea much like what you will be able to do on the Iona ship.

Is anyone else just as excited as I am? Iona really does look amazing and she is going to be such a great addition to the P&O fleet, and it is long overdue. The ship is going to have so many amazing features such as the Sky dome and conservatory cabins, I am personally excited about these features, I think it really gives a certain ambience about the ship, calm and relaxing.

She is going to feature 17 restaurants and 12 bars to service 5200 passengers and 2000 staff. She will also feature 16 whirlpools and 4 swimming pools inside and out and she also has 4 cinema screens! The biggest feature of all is that she will run off liquid natural gas – eco friendly and so much better for the environment.  This means she is welcome to ANY port worldwide.

She has been built to suit the British market and to suit the type of itinerary’s she will be doing, such as the Norwegian Fjords. She features a 3 floor Atrium with lots of wide-open spaces for those cooler days when a window view is all you need. She is being built to feel very light and airy.

I look forward to booking you all on the Iona..
