P&O Cruises Cancels All Dubai and Arabian Gulf Sailings !

P&O Cruises announced late yesterday that they would be withdrawing their upcoming Dubai and Arabian Gulf Winter sailings due to continuing tensions in the Gulf.

The affected cruises are sailing on P&O Oceana from 10th October 2019 to March 2020.

President Paul Ludlow said the attacks on tankers in the Straits and the recent detention of a British-flagged tanker by the Iranian authorities means it is not advisable for P&O to operate cruise ships in the region.

“We have therefore taken the unusual step of withdrawing Oceana from the region for the upcoming season,” he said. “Whilst we appreciate our guests will be disappointed, the safety of our guests and crew is absolutely paramount and given our UK status, coupled with the uncertainty in the region, we have had to make this difficult decision.”

P&O are busily working on 14 new itineraries for the Oceana during this period which will feature Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands, as well as a pre-Christmas 35-night cruise to the Caribbean and Central America.

P&O has also advised that all bookings will be cancelled and all guests will be given a full refund.

If you would still like to visit Dubai and the Arabian Gulf this winter season, you have MSC, which is an Italian owned cruise liner they are offering cancelled P&O guests £50 per person free onboard spend should they wish to book on to one of their sailings. You also have Costa Cruises which are offering a 20% discount on cruise-only fares on Costa Diadema for her Dubai sailings for winter 2019 when booked by 30 September 2019.

I can understand this is a disappointment and so frustrating for all guests who have been affected by this change, but we are on hand to help you get booked on to a replacement. If there is anything I can help you with please call me on 0800 408 6159
