Sunshine is and was the best medicine

I have recently returned from a week away in Ibiza. I went to visit my 18-year old son who is working out there as a barber, its just me and him at home and we are very close and as soon as he suggested he may work there, my bags were packed in my mind and flights ready to click confirm!!

I went with Eliza who works at Cruise.co.uk too and I had been to Ibiza about 20 years ago so wasn’t really sure what to expect and how it had changed, but it didn’t disappoint. I find Ibiza the most diverse islands in the Balearics, there is truly something for everyone.

Although we did manage to experience the amazing nightlife Ibiza had to offer, we packed our days with things to do to make sure we saw what the White Isle had to offer. Staying In San Antonio we walked to the Bay every day, about a 20-minute walk. The first beach you come to on the walk into the bay is Es Puet, a small sandy beach that wasn’t too crowded, with a great restaurant on the corner, there is also a snack bar on the Jetty and there are watersports from this beach :). The water is clear and shallow, this was where we spent our first day. If you can it is well worth hopping on a water taxi from San Antonio Bay to some beautiful beaches, the ferry ran about every hour and it only took 25 minutes to get to Cala Bassa, a beautiful clear water sandy cove like beach set in amazing scenery. There are beach bars /restaurants and some shops it was really lovely here. If you visit Cala Bassa try and get there early as it does tend to get busier throughout the day, we went on a weekday too as we were told weekends are very crowded.

One of my favourite part of Ibiza is watching the sunsets, we spent evenings drinking cocktails and watching the most amazing sunsets. A truly calming place that sees people every age and from various backgrounds come together. I cannot wait to go back, but obviously not too much as my son hardly needs his mum turning up too often!!
