20 years ago my 1st ever cruise was on board QE2 Transatlantic from Southampton to New York

One of the most memorable moments on board was going to a talk by Terry Waite, he had just written a book about his time as a hostage and I still remember how engaging and inspiration his hour long talk was

Voyage du Vin with special guests on board Oz Clarke is one of the world’s leading wine experts,  and Will Lyons an award winning wine writer and Sunday Times wine columnist and Vice President of The Sunday Times Wine Club.

Literature Festival at Sea with guest authors on board including leading historians and cultural commentators, offering a unique and inspiring programme of events featuring stimulating conversations, interactive workshops and more.

You can Dance The Atlantic and be joined on board by six ballet dancers . Spectacular performances will take place in Queen Mary 2’s Royal Court Theatre, with extracts from classic Swan Lake, and even take part in dance workshops throughout the week. There will also be insight talks, offering a fascinating understanding of the dedication and exhilaration of the dancer’s life, along with dance themed films and documentaries.

World Space Week will be celebrated with a special space-themed Transatlantic Crossing in September and will feature a variety of space-themed experiences, including talks from distinguished space explorers and astronomers and acclaimed experts from many fields  – including astronauts, scientists and Royal Astronomical Society members – to present and discuss all aspects of space and its exploration.

Inspired by the iconic big bands of the ‘30s and ‘40s, Cunard’s Big Band Ball combines hugely talented musicians from venues across the ship with some special guest musicians from the UK Big Band scene, to create a swinging 17-piece orchestra, accompanied by vocalists including Joe Stilgoe, performing Big Band classics in the Queens Room for one very special evening
