I am just back from a great 2 week holiday to Orlando.
No Cruising this time.
We did the standard Orlando Theme parks holiday. We did the same 2 years ago and loved it even though I was determined to not love it!!.
Last time around we did all of the Disney parks, Universal Parks, Discovery Cove and Sealife Centre. This time we didn’t do Discovery Cove or Seaworld but instead went to Clearwater.
The Clearwater trip was to see the Dolphins Winter and Hope from the Movies Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale 2. The Girls really enjoyed seeing them and then we had the added bonus of visiting Beautiful Clearwater Beach which has recently won the award ‘USA best Beach’ and I can see why it is stunning.
We again this year stayed on International Drive and hired a car to get around. We had the usual Multi-park tickets for all of the Disney and Universal parks which include the water parks too. We also stayed 1 night at the Loews Pacific which is an amazing hotel – the advantage of staying here is that you get free two-day ‘Express passes’ for the universal parks – which are basically beat the queue passes – well worth it.
This time around because we knew what we were doing we were prepared for things like fast passes and how to get the best out of the parks.
This kind of Holiday is extremely tiring because you are constantly on the go but it is well worth it for a holiday full of memory making. Again my favourite parks are Disney Animal Kingdom ( Pandora is amazing) and both Universal parks – Obviously, Disney Magic Kingdom is a must because that’s where the magic is.
Also this year I wasn’t able to get out of going on the ‘Big Rides’ as Lexie is now tall enough for them all – previously she wasn’t so Mia went on them all with her mum. So I went on Rides like – Rock n Rollercoaster and Ripride Rocket to name a couple.
Now that I have braved the ‘big rides’ I am told that next time we go we can visit Busch Garden…sounds tranquil – Nope they have the biggest rides in Florida…great.
I am actually considering next time doing a week in Orlando followed by a 7-night cruise – thinking maybe Carnival from Port Canaveral. I just need to start the planning.
In the meantime I have a mini Cruise with the family in August to look forward to, cannot wait.
