Strictly sailing on the high seas

Can you believe it’s now the middle of September where has the year gone so far? Sadly it does mean the nights are getting darker earlier and the colder weather is approaching, but on the plus side it means programmes such as Strictly come dancing makes a return to our TV screens – and I will admit I do enjoy my Saturday nights leading up to Christmas with a takeaway, bottle of wine and my weekly dose of Strictly come dancing.

P&O Cruises had 3 Strictly Themed cruises earlier this year, and 4 have been announced for cruises in 2020 so if you are a fan of the show and fancy meeting some of the pro dancers or seeing the outfits which were worn during the shows by the pros and celebrities then the following cruises would be ideal.

Ventura – 04th April 2020 and the 20th June 2020 (but no guest dance competition on this sailing), Britannia 06th June 2020 and Azura 12th July 2020  – Dancers to be advised

On the brand new Iona in the Limelight Club (fee applicable), you can enjoy an evening with a strictly special guest and pro dance couple which will include dinner, dance, Q&A session and photo opportunities and this will be on 27th June, 04th Jully 15th August and 22nd August

I sailed on a Strictly themed cruise 3 years ago to the Baltic on board Azura (was booked for the itinerary not specifically for the Strictly come Dancing aspect) and thought the Strictly theme enhanced the entertainment as alongside the normal offering of quizzes and headliner shows, there was Strictly come dancing quizzes, dance masterclasses – Anton Du Beke tried to host one and I think nearly the whole ship turned up to learn how to cha-cha with Anton, the pro dancers had their own evening shows which each person on board has the opportunity to see, and not forgetting the passenger dance competition – which some people took very seriously (had dance school jackets and professional dresses etc).  My partner will watch Strictly if its on and even he enjoyed the enhancements.
