Poison themed murder cruise to hit the seas but whodunnit?

I have never been to one of these murder mystery dinners/weekends or even been very good at playing Cluedo, so when Fred Olsen launched yesterday at an exclusive event held at the Tower Bridge  (I think my invite had got lost in the post) that they were dedicating a whole cruise to one of these I have to say I was a bit skeptical about the whole notion and am left wondering how this will actually work and whether it will be a success or not? And also would this be popular enough to fill a ship – even a small ship which holds 880 guests?  Fred Olsen have gone on sale today with a Poison Themed murder mystery cruise, which will sail from Edinburgh (Rosyth) on the 10th July 2015 for 16 nights on the Boudicca.  Fred Olsen are hoping to set a world record for the largest number of participants for a murder mystery event on board a cruise, and will have someone on board from the Guinness world records to watch over proceedings  The cruise itself will visit 2 iconic poison gardens – one belonging to her Grace, the Duchess of Northumberland at Alnwick Castle (scenes for Harry Potter was filmed here), and the other belonging to Fred Olsen Snr in Guimar in Tenerife. Guests on board will learn about everyday plants which have been used as poisons in history for murder or suicide.  Guests on board will get to choose their characters online before sailing and will get to dress as a glamorous guest on board the an ocean liner from the 20’s. The whole cruise will be themed around murder and mystery with guest speakers including a forensic examiner, all the films shown on board will be relevant to murder or mystery.

The guest who guesses correctly on the last day will win a world cruise for two, so if you are into the murder mystery, whoduunit scene then this cruise might be just for you.

My other thought (and not wanting to sound morbid here) is if a passenger should actually pass away whilst on board for real, would this then be written into the story?

What are your thoughts on this cruise ? Do you think it will be success? Do theme cruises work? would love to hear your thoughts.  If you would like to book a cabin on this cruise then please do not hesitate to contact me on 0800 408 6086.
