Kerry's Cruise Guide

Last few hours in Vancouver

Disembarkation from the Celebrity Infinity was a quick and easy process and we were one of the last groups to disembark as our flight was not until the evening. There was still a big queue for a taxi but we had researched and found out there was a baggage company within the terminal building who we could pay $40 to and they would store our bags for the day and then deliver to them to the airport for us.

This then left us bag free and could go and explore the city. Right outside the terminal is some sightseeing tourist kiosks and we decided as it was such a beautiful day we would take the hop on hop off bus and took the Park Route so that we could see some areas we hadn’t got to see yet such as Stanley Park and the Totem Poles, Granville Island, Gastown and China Town. We stayed on the bus and the whole route took approx 1 hour and a half. The guide we had gave us lots of interesting commentary throughout the tour. After the tour we walked back to Gastown which took 5 minutes and to see the famous clock which every 15 minutes whistles and blows out steam, and on the hour it marks each hour with a toot from each whistle.

Going back to the airport was easy and we took the Canada Line Transit train from the Waterfront station near Gas Town and the cruise port and takes you directly to the airport and took approx 30 minutes.  As it was a Sunday there was also a reduced rate and was $2.85 CAN pp so amazing value and much cheaper than a taxi.

We arrived at the airport and found the desk easily from the instructions of the baggage company to be reunited with our bags and then sadly it was time to head to check-in to end an amazing trip full of amazing memories. So now its time to start planning the next one and thinking of Asia in 2020.

Have a great couple of weeks and keep warm.
