Kerry's Cruise Guide

A cruise ship now on Google Street view – whatever next

So how many of us actually use Google Street or even know what it is? I must admit I have only used Google Street view on a couple of occasions, the first time when they first launched the street view and I wanted to see what the street I lived in looked like, and the other time when I was looking at a particular property to move into and the estate agents page had the link to the road so you could see up and down the street.

Never would I have thought about looking at a cruise ship on there – any guesses which cruise line has done this? If you have guessed Royal Caribbean then you would be correct. On Google Street view you can now look at and take a virtual tour around the Quantum of the Seas – great for anyone unsure about booking its sister ship Anthem and wants to see before they book, or for anyone who has booked and wants to see what it looks like.

My first thoughts when I first saw that they had done this, was that this was just another high tech gimmick to match the high tech ship, however I have to say that after playing for a while,I have actually been really excited at looking around the ship and all the different areas.  Places you can see include: the Sea Plex – and it shows it set up with dodgems, rollerskating, basketball, the xbox arena and table tennis, you can also see the gym, spa and solarium, the 18 different restaurants, the north star, the sky diving simulator – ripcord by ifly, the bionic bar and the music hall, and you can also look around some of the different cabins.

If you are travelling or thinking about it then its definitely worth taking a look at on:
