Arcadia I am coming to SEE you !

Hi All, not long now, I am off to check her out and experience as much as I can that is Arcadia !!!  (tomorrow in fact) and I will be boarding the beautiful Arcadia, I can not wait to see her.

She is as I think I have mentioned my Mum and Dad’s favourite P and O ship. She launched back in 2005, then had a refit in 2017. I will be travelling with 40 of our Forum guests and really looking forward to meeting them.

We are off to Guernsey and the beautiful port St Petersport. I have been there before on Britannia a few years ago and remember the fantastic coffee shops and wonderful jewellery shops. I do however think its best I stay onboard and check out the Thermal area, (might be cheaper)

As of this April 2019, she has become one of P and O’s Adult only ships. With 1000 cabins she is a fair size and was for a time the biggest cruise ship that dealt with the UK market. That was until Ventura was launched in 2008. She was first earmarked to be the new Queen Victoria for Cunard but then was given to P and O instead as they could make more use of her. Due to this, she is, in fact, sister ship to Queen Victoria (Cunard) and Princess cruises Island and Coral.

The main Dining room is called the Meridian and is over 2 floors, with a pretty central staircase.  At night the Meridian operates the usual dining system of two sittings, where guests dine each night at the same table. The upper tier is for those who have chosen Freedom Dining, which means you can turn up at any time. ( I sometimes think people think if they choose anytime they have to eat in the buffet!) I am really looking forward to the food, can you tell ???

There are several other restaurants and buffets available, but I will tell you all about them on my return, or watch tomorrow for a live broadcast on Facebook and get those questions into me before I leave port so I can check out the answers for you during my sea day.

No need for a creche or children’s club so there are 4 bars and the casino, with a fantastic theatre that holds up to 736 people and most shows are done twice to accommodate the dining on an evening.

You can read all about the fabulous cruises people have had on our review page …..
