Edge Of Glory

You’d spot the Celebrity Edge from Miles away, all thanks to the Magic Carpet. Celebrity Cruise new ship made its debut in Miami in November. It is complete with a bright orange platform, the size of a tennis court, decked out with bright and modern outdoor furniture, plants and a bar.

Magic Carpet is a smart piece of kit, moving up and down between the decks & with different functions on each of the four stops.

Magic Carpet is not a gimmick, but it is already a huge hit with passengers.

Another amazing feature is the technology in the theatre which blows anything in the West End out of the water. A system of 154 speakers called Constellation and the only one of its kind at sea, it gives the illusion of being in a cathedral ( i would love this) or being at a rock concert. The stage is set against 10 giant LED screens and the tallest at sea.

Cabins too are very plush with 918 infinite veranda staterooms – the top half of a wall of glass slides down to create a balcony effect. These are very popular on a lot of the River Cruise ships.

Another quirky feature is the Le Petit Chef- dinner with a difference in the Le Grand Bistro, four tiny 3D chefs appear in front of diners at each place setting and scurry around, preparing food and arranging it on the plate. Once the dish has been assembled, the mini chefs sit back with a flourish and the waiters appear bearing the food identically presented.

Now if that is not clever – I don’t know what is
