My MSC Meraviglia Experience

Hi Everyone, so I have just done my 4th and final ship visit of the year yesterday and had the pleasure of spending the day on board the MSC Meraviglia which only Launched last summer. The ship’s capacity is approx 4500 passengers and is also the biggest ship to ever visit my hometown of Greenock.

First impressions WOW what a stunning ship and the largest I have been on. not a great picture below but the best I could get from Outside.

Once on board, the first thing I noticed was how beautiful the staircases are !! They are filled with Swarovski Crystal and lights, absolutely stunning.

We headed to the Sky Lounge for a quick presentation, I couldn’t really get any pictures due to the other 160 agents who were also on the ship but the 180-degree views from the Sky Lounge are fantastic, you look right out over the front of the ship and the lounge had a very classy and modern feel.

We then headed straight to the Waves restaurant for  Lunch which is one of the 3 main restaurants. The other 2 restaurants are open for dinner only, Waves is open for Breakfast Lunch & Dinner. Once onboard you will have your main restaurant for evening meal assigned to you and if you’re looking to change restaurants its normally not a problem although they do all serve from the same menu.

The portion sizes were huge but the food was very tasty and the chicken in the curry was so soft and plenty of it.

starter – Chefs Salad, Lettuce, Tomato, boiled egg, Emmental cheese, Ham, roast turkey & roast beef with a French dressing.

Main – Thai chicken curry with basmati rice.

Desert – Paris -Brest. Choux pastry ring with hazelnut cream

Please excuse the sloppy presentation fo the desert, I started eating it and then realised I forgot to take a photo !! It just looked so tasty and I dived straight in without hesitation.

After lunch we began our 90-minute tour of this massive ship, my feet were sore at the end !!

The kid’s facilities on MSC Meraviglia are fantastic, I wouldn’t think twice about taking my 8 year old son on this ship. Kids clubs for all ages and I was very impressed with the full-size court and the fact the 15-17-year-olds have their own party area with a bar called Attic club. I loved the idea of the race car simulator and also the 4d simulator(all at a cost) the family can also go bowling again at a cost. So plenty to keep the kids entertained most of the day. The water slides looked like so much fun, when we go abroad I always make sure our hotel has waterslides for my son(and husband) so this again would be a big tick on our wishlist for a cruise. You can also do Zipwire and sky obstacle course. Plenty of pictures below.

If you want to get away from the kid’s slides and splash park you can head to the Solarium which has a retractable roof and if you are booked on the Yacht club experience you can head up to your own private pool and sundeck. If you want to relax the Meraviglia has the largest Spa at sea but make sure you book early as the spaces fill up fast. The Meraviglia also has a fully equipped Techno Gym if you want to burn off those massive portions of food !!

In the evenings you can pay $15 per person to watch the world-famous Cirque Du Soleil which last approx 45 mins, you also have the choice to pay extra and have some dinner while you watch.  If you don’t fancy this then head to the main theatre for some live performances or enjoy a drink at the Cocktail bar.

The Meraviglia Truly has something for everyone, if you want something very British or American then MSC is probably not for you, most of the passengers a European so you need to be open-minded about the food & entertainment.

Would you sail on the Meraviglia? I 100% would !!

Here are some more pictures I Took.
