Sailing from the ‘Fun’shine State

Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA - August 19, 2015: an entrance of Walt Disney World Resort. Some cars are visible.

Florida is somewhere that everybody must travel to at least once in their lifetime. Home to so many must see places , non-stop fun, long days and lifetime memories. More often than not you’ll need another holiday when you get back home! Early starts to catch the parades as the parks open, then staying as late as possible to catch the evening firework displays. Definitely not a relaxing holiday……but it could be!

Florida isn’t all about Orlando and it’s many theme parks, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and Busch Gardens. Take a trip to Gatorland and take a ‘snap’ of one of the local residents, an alligator! Take a ride on an airboat through the Everglades or just relax on one of the hundreds of beaches on offer.

But to really relax then why not jump on-board one of the many cruise ships that call Florida their home all year round, the nearest port is just over an hours drive from the theme parks. Visit a private island paradise and enjoy a Perfect Day in Cococay, swim with Dolphins in Mexico or watch baby turtles hatch on Grand Cayman. The choice is yours. With the average sailings lasting between 3 and 11 nights, there really is a cruise for everyone. Don’t forget once on-board all your meals are included which is definitely needed after a week of paying theme park meal costs!

So if you’re thinking of travelling to Florida but can’t convince the other half to trawl round the parks for a week or so. Sweeten the deal with a nice relaxing cruise at the end of your trip. It could be the deal breaker you’re looking for!

But if you need anymore convincing then just drop me a line. I’m lucky to have visited Florida many times before and have collected many hints and tips along the way. So should you have any questions at all please just let me know.

In true Floridan Style ‘I hope you have a fabulous day!’
