Isla's Cruise Inspirations

NCL Premium all inclusive is about to change!

Following on from an earlier blog regarding P&O’s entry into the world of drink packages , it seems as one arrives another leaves the arena. Norwegian Cruise Line were one of the first 4 * brands to make their packages at sea Premium all inclusive, which included the drinks packages, gratuities and service charges.  This was a few years ago now and some passengers took to the new concept really well as they were adding drinks to their holidays anyway and then were some clients who really didn’t like the new idea.

For me I totally embraced the thought, drinks can be expensive, especially with the American cruise lines. the overall cruise cost did go up but I found the prices fair and great value for money.  We have heard from the powers that be that NCL is now replacing “Premium All Inclusive” with a new concept ” Free at Sea”, which they claim will allow more flexibility and choice when making your Norwegian Cruise Line booking.

So what is this new concept? From the 2nd April you will now be required to pay £99pp to access two benefits of your choice, may be better for some, may not but will give all passengers “choice” when making their reservation, the new benefits are worth more than £700

Passengers can choose from:

Passengers sailing in NCL’s top stateroom classes, Haven, Concierge or suites will automatically be eligible for all five.

The £99 free at sea upgrade will be available on all cabin types.

NCL’S view is to reinforce  freestyle cruising, offering more flexibility, choice and value to the customers.

So all change from April with NCL, will be interesting to see how these changes reflect the prices!!
