The Big Black Friday Let Down

For the last few years I have eagerly awaited Black Friday, one more than one occasion I have found myself sat up in the early hours taking advantages of the amazing deals before my eyes which frankly Id have been a fool not to.

Staple purchases for me each year are Ugg boots. I buy a new pair each year and literally wear them day in day out as I find them so comfy but walking the dogs in them eventually takes it toll hence the treat each year, call it an early xmas present to myself if you like.

This year however, I didn’t get my boots. I didn’t get any cut price toys for Santa to re-deliver on the big day itself, no gadgets for the husband, perfume for my Mum, not even any new shoes or hand bags for me. NOTHING. It was rubbish!!

I like to think I am a thrifty shopper and do like to save a pound or two when I can, so imagine my disgust as I’m scrolling my way through certain websites only to keep seeing items I have picked up over the last month or so actually MORE EXPENSIVE in the Black Friday ‘sale’ than they were when I bought them at ‘full’ price! Shocked. Annoyed. The excitement of Black Friday sales ruined forever.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m sure not all of the sales are a con. I did see what I thought were fantastic deals on electricals such as hoovers, TV’s etc. We had some super cruise deals available too some from just £399 per person! But for those of us with children who were wanting to try and save a bit whilst filling the cupboard we all use to hide the prezzies in it was a real disappointment. I honestly don’t think i’ll bother next year as it just seems that these huge retail giants take advantage of parents, grand parents etc buying toys for Christmas which I feel is a real shame 🙁

You may disagree with me and were up in the middle of the night snatching the bargains, maybe I was looking in the wrong places. Id love to hear your Black Friday successes and disappointments.
