Do you book On Board? If not, Why Not?!

Do you find yourselves visiting the Future Cruise desk whilst you are away but then feel sorry for your super friendly, helpful agent back in the UK so don’t confirm the booking? Please stop it! You’re diddling yourselves out of some fantastic benefits!! You can send your booking back to your favourite agent and still keep that super deal so its a win win, it makes no sense not to.

I feel there is a huge trick being missed when it comes to booking cruises on board. I mention it a lot to my clients, many of whom do now regularly make their bookings on board and nominate me as their chosen agent. The cruise line send me the booking back to manage and look after as I would had I booked it myself and I apply an extra discount as a thank you.

I have on a few occasions had conversations lately where clients have come back with an on board quote to see if I could match it to which I then have to explain that no, sadly i cant.

These are but a few extras to be had when making your booking on board (these vary by cruise line but usually you aren’t restricted to just one of these, in fact Celebrity Cruises have been known to offer low deposit, free drinks, free tips AND on board spend);

  • Flexibility – most cruise lines allow you to swap your cruise if you want to (free of charge) to something else – no admin fee.
  • Low deposit, this varies by cruise line but anything from £25pp is offered.
  • Free drinks packages or even free Premium drinks packages
  • Free gratuities
  • Extra on board spending money
  • Double loyalty points

For those of you who are thinking heck, I don’t always know what I want to do next time so booking on board isn’t really viable then put down whats known as a Future Cruise Deposit. So you aren’t committing to any particular sailing, but simply paying a deposit (usually £50 or £75 per person) to be used against a cruise at a later date which you would book with your chosen agent, have no further deposit to pay AND get a nice chunk of extra on board spending money.

Sounds great doesn’t it? So now you know about it, you have no excuse not to take advantage 🙂
