My Zipline Experience in Labadee

On Thursday 20th December the Symphony of the Seas docked in Labadee, Royal Caribbeans own private area on the island of Haiti. Having never been before and reading all the reviews I was more excited for this port than any other.

We pre booked a private Cabana so on arrival we went to Nellies Beach where Mark our Cabana butler was waiting for us. It was fabulous and you may think £450.00 was excessive but for us as a family it really was Wow.

Seating area with a fan and also electricity that allows up to 6 guests, together with a cool box on arrival filled with bottles of water. 2 Further padded sunbeds were on the decking on the verandah of the cabana in the sunshine if you wanted to sunbathe. Also floating mats for the sea were given to us too which when we climbed down the steps of our cabana led us into the crystal clear waters below. Absolutely loved it.

Now I asked my children 22 and 19 if they were willing to try the Dragons Breath zipline with me, I have to be honest it isn’t something I would choose to do normally but once there I knew I would regret it if I didnt do it.

So we all walked to the  hut where a team was there to talk about what was involved. I signed a waiver and my bill of $109.00

The Dragons Breath Flight Line has a launch platform 500ft above sea level with the most amazing views. You hurtle down 40-50 miles an hour over the crystal waters and stunning beaches .

First of all a team member fits you into your harness and then shows you what position you need to be in before and during and after the descent. Then they take you to a mini zipine so you can get the hnag of the positions. Well to be fair Even the mini one had my stomach in knots . Then off you travel by jeep around 5 minutes up the mountain to the top.

Well once there you have a small metal man made bridge to walk across, which kind of reminded me of the metal bridge celebrities walked across on Im a Celeb, well I wanted to shout im a clebrity get me out of here, but not being a celebrity it didnt count and I had to go through with it. Once at the top they fix you to the start of the platform where you dangle over the edge, this was the worst part, then your off. It was one the most amazing thrilling experiences I have done. I think at that point though as I screamed happily and waved my arms in the air like a big kid I was just glad I had done it. It was worth every penny . Highly recommended.

We were so sad to leave this place and we didnt see half of it during the 8 hours we were here, If only we could have stayed one more day. The best holiday ever………………………..
