Holly Crabtree’s Cruise Awards 2013

Yes , you have the Oscars, The Golden Globes and the National Television Award but for one time only you now have Holly Crabtree’s Cruise Awards.

What a year it was, so I personally wanted to share with you some of my own personal moments I experienced on many cruise lines  last year . They are my own personal view and are meant to give you a little insight to me . You may or may not agree but like many award ceremonies we all have our opinions 🙂

So here goes:

TOP CRUISE LINE – The Royal Princess

For me she oozed class , she was more sophisticated than the others in her fleet . Arguably, what Princess does better than any other mainstream cruise line is embrace innovations and enfold them into an otherwise traditionally minded cruise experience. Royal Princess is no exception. Here, the Piazza has been significantly expanded, Movies Under the Stars is the biggest in the fleet, and the Youth Centre has some exciting new features, including a private, outdoor sun deck for teens. New twists on board Royal Princess include the SeaWalk, a walkway that hangs off one side of the ship 16 decks up and offers vertigo-inducing views through strengthened glass. On the pool deck, a magical fountain — between the main pool and the upgraded Movies Under the Stars screen — does a Vegas-like water and light show at night. And there’s Princess Live!, the first television studio in cruising, featuring with audience seating and participation. All in All she wins hands down for me.

FINEST FOOD AT SEA AWARD – Princess Cruises

Yes another winner for Princess, after dining in the most exquisite restaurants at sea for me its not just about the food its about the whole dining experience. Princess cruises win hands down .  After bring on both Crown and Royal Princess , variety is definitely the spice of life. Sabatini’s captures the heart of Italian cuisine in a truly authentic atmosphere, while The Crown Grill serves premium aged beef and fresh seafood items in a theatre-style kitchen.

BEST WATERPARK AT SEA – Carnival Cruises

Now this was a tough decision for me . Norwegian Epic was a very close runner up I can tell you. Carnival pipped Epic to the post only because I am slightly competitive and Carnival have two water slides that race each other and this gave me the thrill factor. when it comes to water parks at sea, NCL, MSC and Carnival are all fighting for the title of who has the best rides. You will have your own experiences I’m sur

A Picture of NCL Epic too

TOWEL ANIMAL AT SEA- Carnival Cruises

I am sure we all have our own experiences of coming back to your cabin late at night to find your chocolate on your pillow and your towel made into an animal, some of course you can guess and some of course you struggle to know what it actually is. Here is mine and although I am still not sure what it is , it was one of the best I have seen. Any ideas?

MOST IMPROVED FROM REVITALISATION – Royal Caribbean – Brilliance of the Seas

I had the opportunity of visiting her as soon as she had emerged from Dry Dock and yes WOW what a transformation , her whole ambience had changed and she had become classy somehow. Cabins were stunning and the service entertainment and style were everything you would imagine on a Royal Caribbean cruise and more. See what you think?

Well I guess that comes to the end of Holly Crabtree’s Cruise awards. what do you think and do you have a favourite dining experience or favourite cruise line. Everyone has very own opinion and its great to hear them so feel free to comment.
