Which cruise ships will cover the World Cup?

The Russia World Cup 2018 is just hours away and the excitement is building, although my beloved Wales aren’t part of the action, I still cant wait! The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be the 21st FIFA World Cup.It is scheduled to take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018, after the country was awarded the hosting rights on 2 December 2010. This will be the first World Cup held in Europe since the 2006 tournament in Germany, the first ever to be held in Eastern Europe and the eleventh time that it has been held in Europe.

I’m sure there is a few of you out that like me follow every single game, but this time round you may be at sea! So for those of you that don’t want to miss the world cup, these are just some of the few cruise ships that have coverage on board.

Celebrity Cruises and Azamara are promising to show all 64 matches of the FIFA World Cup on board ships, whether at one of the many venues on board which will allow you to share the excitement with like-minded sports fans, or you can retreat to the comfort of your stateroom for a more relaxed way to watch the game.

Norwegian Cruise Line recently announced that they have partnered with Sport 24 – a popular sports-related TV channel,  and will be showing all major FIFA World Cup matches on board its ships.

P&O Cruises and Cunard , both part of the Carnival Corporation have also announced a partnership with Sport 24 for the duration of the FIFA World Cup. They realize not everyone onboard is as enthusiastic, so you can still escape to the other quiet havens on board, such as the swimming pools, the spa, and the open decks.

Great news for those booked on board Royal Caribbean during the games  all of the Royal Caribbean fleet will be screening the FIFA World Cup matches. They will be offering the chance for passengers to watch from the comfort of their own cabin, but games will also be shown in various bars, locations and venues around the ships if you fancy having fellow sports fan to watch and cheer with!

Love it or hate it the Fifa World Cup is around the corner. The good news is that cruise lines do a pretty good job televising major sporting events on board, and if its not for you, there is plenty of space and other venues around the cruise ships to give it a miss. Now who do I support……?

There are still a few cruises available to go in the next few weeks so give me a call if you’re looking for a late deal.
