The Seabourn Supremacy

I had the pleasure this week of attending a joint event held by Seabourn cruises and our ourselves at Cruise.co.uk at the stunning Wood Hall Hotel near Wetherby on Monday. The setting was stunning and it was it really was most fitting for event for one of the most luxurious names in cruise. Wood Hall hotel is a member of the Hand Picked Hotels and must be every brides dream for somewhere to get married.

Now it is always really good as a homeworker to be able to go and meet customers and introduce yourself as you do miss face to face contact from time to time. Whilst we are always contactable by phone email and skype It’s nice for customers to see you and vice versa. It was great to see so many people turn up and have the chance to chat over tea and coffee before and after the presentations. I found everyone to be really nice and it was very interesting to watch during the presentation some just taking everything in and other making lot’s of notes as if cramming for an exam.  The presentations were very good we had our own Andrew Adler explaining who we are as a company and what our ethos is about wanting to build relationships with our customers that last for years through our service, We aim as individual’s to deal with everything on your booking, from the enquiry stage to booking, payments, admin, making sure everything is in order before you travel and wanting to check that it was as good as you expected on your return. We aim to do it all!

The Seabourn presentation was very good and full of information without it being to much. Becky pointed out that they are fleet of 5 Smaller ships with a maximum of 229 all suite accommodation on board and get this 1 staff member for every guest, you just don’t get that on the larger ships. That means that they have so much attention to detail and like to go the extra mile with the levels of intuitive service without being to intrusive.

Voted the best Small Cruise line 5 years in a row

The ships look amazing with a big focus on space that again you just don’t get on a larger ship. They can get into more ports that the superliner’s can’t fit into, so have some amazing itinerary’s for the Caribbean and lot’s of explorer cruises to Antarctica, South Africa which are  much shorter than the world cruises offered by others, they are very port rich and try not to have to many days at sea. One thing that really surprised me was the entertainment as with it being smaller ships I thought there was no way the could put on west end style shows but they do. That’s not every night but they do seem to have a good mixture so should appeal to everyone.

Here is a great example of how small the ships are only a handful of cruise ships could fit under Tower Bridge

One thing Seabourn offer that will blow you away is this the Caviar in the Surf ( And you wonder why they are 6 star! )

Now from talking to people at the start they said they wanted to see what Seabourn was all about and if they did represent value for money as they are not the cheapest cruise line. The presentation did the trick and people could see what they were paying for and there was some customer who had been with them recently who endorsed that point. Some people asked about the size of the dance floors on board and were given a very honest answer that they are about 1/2 of the size of the room we where in, they decided from that it was probably not for them as that is one of the main parts of there cruise holiday so they would stick to Cunard. Another gentleman asked about the movement with them being smaller ships and the reply was that they have the same stabilisers as as all cruise ships. The gentleman who had just come back also endorsed this and said movement was not an issue and the advantage the newer small ships have is that they can avoid any adverse weather were some of the bigger ships and cruise lines continue through it.

All in all it was a great day a lot of people had found out what they wanted to know, some are wanting to book others are happy that they have the information but will stick to what they like best. Myself and my colleague learnt a little more that what we thought we knew which is always a good thing.
