Cruise lines are giving it away!

Well since I last caught up with you there have been a couple of significant developments in the world of cruising, and it’s all good news for cruisers, we love a bit of good news don’t we 🙂

Firstly, MSC jumped on the free Gratuities band wagon. Any bookings made from 25th June 2019 will now have Gratuities included in the cruise fare, there will be no additional daily charges once on board which are the bain of people’s lives. Bookings made prior to this date will still pay the daily charge but MSC have pointed out that this can be removed once on board should guests wish to do so.

This is brilliant news from MSC who are following a trend. Last year P&O Cruises and NCL also announced that Gratuities would be included in their cruise fare. We have waited a long time for this and I really hope that many other lines follow suit in the near future.

And in even more fantastic news Princess Cruises have announced that they are giving away an all-inclusive drinks package on 250 Caribbean cruises along with some very generous on board credit. Book a Caribbean cruise between 2nd – 31st July 2019 on six of the lines ships departing between 1st December 2019 – 22nd May 2021 and guests will receive up to $1500 on board credit and drinks, to include cocktails, spirits, speciality coffee, wine and beer. This package will be for guests one and two and any additional guests in the cabin will receive a package which includes mocktails, smoothies, fruit juices, hot chocolate, coffee, tea and soft drinks. Fabulous news for Princess guests isn’t it.

Again, it will be interesting to see how the other cruise lines respond to this news, after all, they need to remain competitive in the face of such strong competition and with so many new ships launching and so many berths to fill it is going to be dog eat dog out there! Watch this space.
