Gordon's Your Cruising Tonic

TUI Discovery, a new destination over every horizon.

In June 2016,  I was lucky enough to spend a few nights on the TUI Discovery, one of the latest addition to the Thomson fleet. From the moment we arrived, until we disembarked, the service was outstanding.

From all the usual Thomson features, entertainment, dining and service, to all the modern touches, an open air cinema, Breakout & Escape and Gamerzone for the kids, and the touch screen Memories Gallery, where you can relive your time on-board. The Discovery really does offer the best of both worlds.

Walking into the breathtaking 5 storey atrium, the 1st thing you notice is that the ship has undergone a fabulous face-lift. Grab a seat at the atrium bar, sampling one of the many delicious cocktails and enjoy the top class entertainment, or take a ride in the amazing glass lifts to truly appreciate the beauty of the ship.

You are totally spoilt food wise, with something to satisfy everyone, no matter what you crave. From the self service Islands restaurant to the amazing Kora La, where you can indulge in all things Asian. From the colourful beach huts in the Snack Shack, to my personal favourite, Gallery 47. Here you can almost imagine that you are in Italy, not on a cruise ship. The food is simply “to die for”, and my mouth is watering at the thought of going back there.

Head to decks 2 & 3 for spacious cabins, both inside and outside, or treat your self to one of the luxurious balcony cabins, and enjoy your own personal outside space to watch the world sail by.

Now I could continue by talking about the MiniGolf & Climbing wall, the swimming pools, the pampertastic Oceans Spa or the Veranda, an adult only sunbathing deck, but I would be here forever.

Dont simply take my word for it, treat yourself to an amazing adventure on the Discovery and find out for yourself. You will not be disappointed!
