As you know we here at cruise.co.uk have our own Facebook & Blogging Pages where we write about cruise-related news, views, offers, hot topics, . This gives you an insight into who we are, where we’ve been, which ships we have sailed on, and our qualifications, and sometimes a little bit about ourselves to help you get to know us a little better. So with this in mind, I’ve recently added a new string to my bow – namely ‘vlogging’. A relative newcomer to the English Dictionary, and one I haven’t been familiar with until now.
It all started with our creative and enterprising management team who came up with the idea to increase customer interest in us . By being a bit more ‘out there’ and giving you a better idea of who we are, our interests, and personalities, show a bit more about life outside of work and hopefully engage with you all on a more personable level!
I’ve got to say, its been a whole heap of fun! even though I’ve been forced out of my comfort zone! Its all very well writing about the various offers, ship news, trending subjects and reviews in the quiet of my office, with no distractions. No make up! no thinking about what to wear, what to say, and where to be! Its quite another having to think about, prepare and memorise my news, decide where best to deliver it, for example, In the office (a bit boring and bland and too formal) or outside. As well as coming across as knowledgeable, confident, engaging, amusing, and informative! Yikes!!
The last few ‘pieces to camera’ have been outside broadcasts (get me! using the lingo!) as I am lucky enough to live by the sea, 15 minutes from Marbella and a stone’s throw away from one of the most beautiful beaches here on the Costa Del Sol, . My apartment is in an urbanisation set in beautiful gardens as well as having a fabulous pool! so hopefully plenty of interesting scenery for you.
I’ve been practising my vlogging skills which I have to admit are still in their infancy! I am very much ‘Work In Progress’ but am learning so much about Social Media and having a lot of fun doing so. Not all my attempts have been successful – you only have to visit my Facebook page to see what I mean. But I do believe I am getting better, and more confident each time I face my ‘public’! You never know this could be the start of something BIG! Here’s what I mean, Click here for an example!
Hopefully with time, patience and a big dollop of luck I could be the next Vlogging Sensation to hit your screens!! (#deludedandnaive)
Keep visiting my Facebook Page and my Blog Page, and feel free to leave your comments, views, and opinions, which are always very gratefully received.
