From Work to the Stage.

This week is going to be a very long and tiring week for me.  I am part of Alcester Musical Theatre Company in my spare time and once a year we put on a musical at the Palace Theatre in Redditch.
Tonight is the first night of our production Guys and Dolls.  We have been rehearsing for this show since May and it is now finally here.  The dress rehearsal last night went well so hopefully the show will run smoothly.  I am a Hot Box dancer and singer in the show and the show is packed with some great songs like ‘Sit Down you’re Rocking the Boat’, ‘Luck be a Lady’ and ‘Guys and Dolls’.  The show will run from tonight and finish on Saturday with a matinee and evening performance.  I really enjoy show week and our hard work certainly pays off.  I have got a few days off work this week but today and tomorrow I will be going straight from work to put on my dancing shoes and be on the stage.  Once this show has finished I will be straight back into rehearsing for our Christmas concerts where we perform at Ragley Hall in Alcester and also at a few of the Care Homes.
