Want To Cruise From The Emerald Isle – Better Get Your Skates On !
I was shocked to hear this week, that the Dublin port authority have announced plans to halve the number of cruise ships calling into Dublin from 2021.
Where In The World Would You Like To Travel To?
The world has definitely become a smaller place over the years.
Once upon a time the only way to cross the Atlantic was by sea, which takes on average 7 days and yet in the modern era of jet travel we think nothing of flying to New York for a weekend break, how the airlines have changed the world.
And the prize for the biggest ship goes to …………………………. Royal Caribbean!
Not another huge cruise ship I hear you say – how much bigger can they get without sinking?
There Is Only One Word For It – Bellissima!
The excitement and anticipation has been growing for many weeks regarding MSC’s Bellissima’s naming ceremony. We are so lucky to have this event happening in the UK. I for one believe that it shows not only MSC’s commitment to the UK cruising business but a big thank you to us Brits who have supported MSC. Just cast your mind back a few years and think of the comments you heard about MSC – ” they only serve pasta and pizza ” , ” everyone speaks Italian ” – to name just two! How far they have come! I am sure you have seen their television advert that is airing at the moment – I think it gives a great impression of their ships and service, don’t you?
How much do you know about the Galapagos Islands?
If, like me, you have only ever seen these fascinating Islands on a David Attenborough documentary and thought it was somewhere that just the BBC went to? Then, you may be in for a pleasant surprise.
They Think It’s All Over – It Is Now!
Happy New Year to you all. Can you believe that the festivities are over for another year? I, for one, really can’t wait to get back to a bit of normality, I know the house looks bare without all the Christmas decorations, but at least it’s easier to dust without knocking Santa over.
Only 6 more sleeps and the big day is here once again!!
Are you all prepared? Are you the sort of person that has all their presents wrapped by the end of October and your Jamie Oliver get ahead gravy made and already in the freezer by the first week in December? A big well done to you if you are, I can only wish that I was as organised! You will usually find me running around the shops on Christmas Eve buying those last few bits that normally end up costing more than I have spent in the run up to Christmas!
Carrots And Peas – Two Very Lucky Turkeys!
As I sat watching the news on television last night, I had to laugh out loud at a particular item – A Presidential Pardon for 2 turkeys from President Trump. Apparently, this is a bit of a Thanksgiving Tradition in the White House – who knew? These lucky Turkey’s then get to live out a peaceful and happy life at ” Gobbler’s Rest ” in Virginia, Heaven knows how the turkeys are chosen for this honour!
Where do I want to go next?
With so many different and exciting places to visit in the world that is not an easy question to answer.
Do I want sun? Do I want amazing scenery? What about culture? – yes, yes, and yes – but all on the same holiday? It is so difficult to choose.
