Emily's Cruise Essentials

A week off at home

Last week I took the week off to be with my family or so I thought.  We had already had our main holiday in May and went on the newly refurbished Independence of the seas. This week I had plans on going on day trips, maybe a theme park. How I was wrong. The boys are now 10 and 14, 14 and now a fully fledged teenager and a joy to be around didn’t want to do anything and barely got up before midday. I now fully appreciated the cruise we took and how there was so much for them to do and ended up having a fantastic holiday. My younger one is still at the age where any suggestions I made he would have happily come along and take a break from playing the deaded fortnite.

I arranged to meet my friend who has boys of similar ages at a new inflatable course on a lake. I am so glad we went as it was so much fun and they all really enjoyed themselves. Luckily for me they of the age where I don’t have to get involved. The water looked a bit murky and jokingly I said they were up to date with their vaccinations and don’t swallow the water. Watching them really made my day as it was extremely funny.

So here I am back to the grindstone until the next school holidays. I do think next year I will book to go away in the Summer as it really breaks up the time, even though it is flying by.
