Journey to Southampton

When the dates for the meeting came out to go to Southampton, I thought how shall I get there?

Living in the West Country, I had two choices, Drive or take the Train. Both methods had advantages, if I drove, then I have the flexibility of stopping when I like, or do I take the train and just sit back and relax?

I opted for the train as I thought it would be nice and relaxing and for those that know me I do like to people watch! So I am sitting on the train, with the rain beating down on the window and I am watching the world go by at a stupidly fast speed. the scenery is absolutely breathtaking, very green and picturesque, shame about the weather but that is just typical British weather don’t you agree?. The train I was on stopped at every station, and each time more and more people got on and slowly the seats were filling up. There was alot of business people sat with their laptop’s on, making use of their journey on the way to work. There was a man sat opposite me that also lives in the West Country, but works in London. He was opening his post! Bills etc, I noticed a lot of letters were from finance companies and even a letter from a small claims court! Which just shows you that each person has something going on in their lives, makes my life really boring!!

Whats the saying ” It takes all sorts to make a world go round”.

As the train is now filling up even more, a man comes and has to sit next to me! I hope he doesn’t smell, or fall asleep and then fall on my shoulder and dribble all over my smart business attire!. Various people on the phone now and the carriage is getting louder and louder having lots of different conversations, then you hear “Hello”, they’ve lost signal!

The time is nearly 9am and soon due to get of the first train to connect onto the next train for Southampton. More coffee is needed as I have now been up for 4 Hours and feeling sleepy as the carriage is all warm and cosy. So Thank You South West Trains.
