Monkey Trouble!

I Know what you’re thinking…

Cute Picture right! Not me the Monkey’s. Lol

When I was travelling with Celebrity in The Caribbean one of the things I had heard so much about were these cute little Monkeys in St Kitts.

I had never been to the Caribbean and in all honesty, I had never held a Monkey before and was excited to see them. The moment we docked and went through security I was handed two Monkeys and asked for a picture to be taken.

It was the most incredible experience as they are one of my favourite animals. It was only after the snaps that I thought to myself…

Are these monkeys clean? Do they have any infections? Are they treated well, could they have hurt me?

We have literally thousands of people, booking cruises to see the Snow Monkeys of Japan on one of our bucket list tours. Some of you may have even seen them on television with Joanna Lumley.

It’s an incredible trip and something I personally would love to do however I recently watched a Princess cruise line documentary called The Cruise on ITV which showed us, just how many injuries that arise from what may seem like a leisurely trip to see the Monkeys.

Their Doctors on board had a few people report to them with cuts, bruises and scratches. It begs the question how well prepared are we all when visiting animals as part of our travels. I mean think about that for a moment….. we sell cruises to Alaska and they have some of the most incredibly dangerous animals in the world, including various species of bears, polar and grizzly to name just a few.

We have a cruise for 2018 taking in a game safari in South Africa, another visiting Wild Pandas in Japan.

I couldn’t agree more that life is for living and these animals represent an opportunity for you to experience life and nature in a way you could never have imagined.

My question is… do you feel comfortable visiting these wild animals?

I can certainly say I excited to have many of these destinations and excursions on my bucket list however, my personal advice would be to take care and do your safety research as much as possible prior to travelling, so that you can fully enjoy your experience.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this?
