Today i welcome my very dear friend Petra who has travelled to the UK to visit me from Prague .

Petra and I became friends around 17 years ago when we both worked aboard Celebrity Millennium.
Petra worked in the spa department as a gym instructor.

During my many years at sea I made some very close friends from all over the world.

Cruising certainly gives you the opportunity to meet new people even if it’s only for the duration of your cruise or the start of a lifelong friendship.

I remember a lady who lived aboard MS Saga Rose and Fred Olsen’s Ms Braemar. She sold her house after her husband died and spent the rest of her life sailing between ships.

Her holidays then became visiting crew members in the Philippines.
She was a beautiful lady inside and out and I always remember thinking what it must be like to live at sea surrounded by all your friends. Now I have experienced this while working but to live the rest of your life aboard is definitely a life I could live .

My son is currently with his father in Greece on an island named Ithaca . They are in a small village with very few homes with many restaurants where there are many visitors arriving on yachts. It really is a very beautiful island.
After 3 weeks they will then make their way to the Celebrity Eclipse flying from Athens to Vancouver.
