Breakfast dilemmas on a cruise

Ask anyone that has been on a cruise to describe their experience and one of the first things people will mention is food.

Food is one of the most important elements on a cruise ship, its what we all enjoy doing after all.

So you wake up in the morning in your cabin and your first thought is BREAKFAST TIME, have you arranged breakfast in your cabin or are you going to make your way to the buffet or the dining room, or maybe even both.  Then you remember you are on a cruise ship and pop over to  have a look out of your window and remember where you are, but the food was always your first thought.

So off you pop to the buffet lets say, as your making your way the smell from every direction hits you, you start to feel even more hungry by now.

Where shall I sit is the next dilemma, you need to be in the best spot so you don’t have to walk far when you are going back and forth many times.

You then stand there and take in all the beautiful sights around you, yes the food. So much to choose from, cereal, fruit, yogurts, pastries, pancakes, cakes, omelettes, meats, waffles , cooked breakfasts and so many different breads. You then sit down and start with a healthy bowl of cereal with some added fruits cause you don’t want to be putting on weight just yet. So you have finished this but now the pastries are waving at you, you try and ignore them but then you see other guests bringing back the most delicious items of food on their plate and they are smiling so i suppose it would be rude not too join in this happy game.

So shall i have some toast? some eggs? and while deciding you have a extremely happy chef asking you to try one of his scrumptious pancakes, so you feel bad that he has gone to all the effort of making this pancake and then before you walk back to your table you have now added syrup, cream and anything else you can find.

You look at your plate and think I would never have put this together at home, but for some reason on a ship it tastes fine.

And then of course while you walk out of the buffet in alot of pain, gripping onto the walls for help you think thats it im not eating for the rest of the day but we all know that within another hour you will be walking past the coffee shop with the cakes and cookies shouting out at you EAT ME and it starts all over again ?

Enjoy the weekend cruisers

  1. I do tend to have a tiny bit of a few things but don’t overload the plate…..there’s plenty of other meals waiting for me to do that 🙂
However, deciding where to sit is not a problem….finding an empty table is usually the problem!
I’ll be happily dealing with that problem again in 3 weeks ??
