Does Celebrity Eclipse the rest???

This week saw me travelling down to Dublin port at ‘stupid o clock’ in the morning (yes that is a proper time lol) to visit Celebrity Eclipse for the day. I was on the ship before for a two night mini cruise but the ship was fully booked and was heaving with people so we didnt really get to cram a lot into our time on board. With the ship just docking in Dublin for the day I knew the majority of passengers would be getting off and I would have a good opportunity to get a better look around the ship.

As with all Celebrity ships she is a beauty. I always think they are more styled like a boutique hotel instead of a traditional cruise ship. The cream, grey and blue colours with the leather seats and comfy sofas leave you feeling you are living it up in Miami instead of sitting on the Liffey.

FUN FACT – All of the Godmother’s of Celebrity Cruises are normal people who have overcome extra ordinary circumstances. The Godmother of the new Celebrity Epic is 19-year-old Nobel Laureate and U.N. Messenger of Peace Malala Yousafzai. You cant help but feel she is a more worthy Godmother of a ship than any actress!

The food choices on board are amazing. As with all ships there are some AMAZING specialty restaurants that I will go into more in depth next week, but the standard complimentary choices on Eclipse are far from standard.

FUNFACT – Did you know children at the kids club get a go-pro so they can film their whole cruise adventure and at the end they make a movie about their trip

Something unique that Celebrity Cruises offer is the Lawn Club. They are the first and still only cruise line to have real grass on the top deck of this class of ship. It had just been cut when we were on board and that smell really should be a Yankee Candle. On sunny days people take their blankets and sit on the lawn like they are in central park. With a fab bar and Glass blowing demonstrations to watch you can have a fab day here. At night the place livens up with musical entertainment so you can sit on the grass with a cocktail under the stars.

Next week I will go into more details of the specialty restaurants on board and will share some exciting news about a development on Celebrity EDGE that will be rolled out on the other ships in a multi million redevelopment plan and you will get to hear my final thoughts on the ship.
