Cruising The Molly Way

Still lost!

How can a plane just disappear from the face of the planet. Well it appears that is just what has happened to Malaysian Airlines flight MH370.

Flight MH370 disappeared early on 8th March en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, with 227 passengers and 12 crew on board. At the time of writing this blog it still has not been found.

This made me think how many other items still remain lost!

Amelia Earhart and plane

Amelia Earhart disappeared somewhere in the Pacific Ocean in 1937 during her attempt to make a circumnavigational flight.

Atlantis

Fact or fiction the island of Atlantis has long been rumoured to have been an ancient and lost civilisation that for whatever reason sank below the sea.

The Crew of the Mary Celeste

On December 5th 1872 the Mary Celeste was found drifting near the Azores with full supplies on board and no crew.

Jules Rimet Trophy

This was made to represent victory in the World Cup and was made of gold plated sterling and lapis lazuli and depicted Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. The trophy was stolen in 1983 and was never recovered.

The Lost Faberge Eggs

Peter Carl Faberge were Russian jewellers of French descent based in St Petersburg. In 1885 Tsar Alexander II commissioned the production of the “eggs” for his wife the Empress Maria. 52 Imperial Eggs were made and 8 of these vanished.

If anyone knows where these are  I would be more than happy to share any reward!!
