Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas to Home-port in Euorpe!!

One of the best ships I have ever been on Allure of the Seas will be calling Barcelona home from 2020.

Two Royal Caribbean Oasis Class ships will be given major refits in early 2020, in what is called Royal Amplification modernisation programme, Royal Caribbean total spending will be  approximately $1 Billion. Allure taking 58-days in dry dock next year.

The 5,492-passenger vessel will feature a 10 storey slide Ultimate Abyss, the trio of water slides called The Perfect Storm, Italian specialty  family-style restaurant Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar and among other favorites like kids aqua park Splashaway Bar, and live entertainment venue Music Hall.

The Oasis Class ship will also feature Lime & Coconut signature bar, this is already a popular choice on Voyager Class vessel Navigator of the Seas,  and will be introduced to Allure’s pool deck area as part of the refit.

More seating, daybeds, hammocks and swing seats will also be added to the pool space on the top deck.

I was first on Allure of the Seas in November 2010, and still to this day she is one of the best ships I have ever sailed on. The open spaces, courtyard, promenade, lounges, bars, facilities, entertainment and not to mention the dining was all excellent. Therefor this is excellent news for the Mediterranean cruises, to have such a large, yet awesome ship departing from the easy accessible Barcelona.

Allure will start the season from Barcelona on May 10th with seven-night Western Mediterranean round-trip sailings. Lead in prices start at £899 per person.

Ports of call include Palma de Mallorca, Spain Marseille, France; La Spezia, Civitavecchia (Rome), and Naples all in Italy.

In November 2020, Allure will then make her way to Miami where she will sail a series of seven-night Caribbean cruises.
