Travelling Post Brexit

With the uncertainty of Brexit hanging over the country. It’s understandable that I’ve received a few calls from people concerned about their upcoming cruise holiday and how it might be affected.

Whilst none of us know what the long term outcome will be. I thought it best to update you on what we do know with the current Government and ABTA advise;

Rules for passports

The rules for travel to most countries in Europe change if the UK leaves the European Union (EU) with no deal.

After 29 March 2019:

1 You should have at least 6 months left on your passport from your date of arrival. This applies to adult and child passports.

If you renewed a passport before it expired, extra months may have been added to your new passport’s expiry date. Any extra months on your passport over 10 years may not count towards the 6 months that should be remaining for travel to most countries in Europe.

Cruise Passenger Advise

From 29 March 2019, if there is no EU Exit deal, cruise operations will continue on the same basis as today.
Even if there is a no-deal scenario, the European Commission has said that UK airlines will still be able to operate flights between the UK and the EU. The UK government has offered similar assurances for EU airlines.

Passengers should take out appropriate travel insurance, check and understand the terms and conditions of their booking, and check with their cruise line and insurance provider if they have any questions.

We shall continue to keep you up to date information as it’s confirmed.
