Venture on Ventura

I think its fair to say that Ventura has not always been the most popular of the P&O fleet. She arrived in a blaze of glory in 2008 and I well remember what was probably the busiest day of bookings ever in the cruise industry as people scrambled to get cabins on her, especially for her first summer Mediterranean season. I managed to book 80 cabins on the day her programme was launched and stress was definitely the word for it!

After the initial rush demand for her seemed to drop off, too much Noddy and Scalectrix for more traditional P&O passengers! However she now seems to have turned a corner to become one of the most popular vessels in the fleet.

Some ship statistics and facts.

Passengers 3,250 Crew 1226 115,000 Tons 19 Decks Length 288 metres Beam 36 metres

She lots of exciting itineraries for this year and next, sailing in the Caribbean in the Winter and the Mediterranean and Northern Europe for the summer.

Last week I discovered another new element to Ventura – she will have single cabins for the 2013 season! Inside and outside, all mid-ship cabins on deck 6.

The prices are really good too. Take a look at  the Caribbean Transatlantic on 25th October 2013. This sails from Southampton and crosses over to the Caribbean via the Azores, returning back with flights to Gatwick, Manchester or Birmingham. You will even get a transfer included at the beginning of the cruise from your return airport to Southampton.

Prices start at £ 1689 for an inside single which is a supplement of around £ 400 over the double occupancy fare. You need to hurry though as single cabins are in such short supply on todays cruise liners that they do sell out really quickly, and with P&O`s price promise for 2013 sailings ( departures after 1st April 2013 ) you just can`t lose ! Give me a call and we`ll see what we can find for you!
