It`s Nearly Christmas!

This year seems to have flown by and it is now only eleven weeks until Christmas, give or take a day or too. I actually quite like Christmas, but probably enjoy the run up to it as much as Christmas Day itself. I looked out of the window yesterday morning and it was grey and raining so, to brighten myself up, I started to think what things are going on in the next three months or so.

I have had a few days holiday this week, starting on Friday with a very early start taking my friend to Birmingham airport to fly and off and enjoy the Majorcan sunshine. Later in the day another friend arrived to stay for the weekend, so lots of retail therapy and good food and wine. Friday evening we went to our local pub, the landlord is  the lovely Merlin Griffiths from Channel Four`s First Dates, for good food and , of course, the best cocktails in the world !

The only blot on the  evening was, when we got home, my beloved dog Rowan had managed to help himself to a loaf of homemade courgette, pepper and tomato bread! He had cleverly taken it out of a bowl on the kitchen worktop, unwrap it and eat all but a small bit of the end ! Like a child throwing a tantrum he had also scattered all the cushions off the sofas in the house  too – naughty boy ! Can`t be cross with him for too long though with eyes like that !

Another little holiday next month to North Wales for a few days , followed by a week or so in Norfolk at the beginning of December, Rowan`s turn for a holday with lots of walks on the beach. Christmas is also being spent with friends in North Wales but before then there are lots of days and evenings out with friends planned. One highlight being our annual girls Christmas Lunch at Butchers Arms in a nearby village. So lots to look forward too before the arrival of 2020.
