Brad’s On Board

Who wants a game of Monopoly?

So we have recently seen NCL complete the purchase of Oceania and add a shiny new boat to the fleet with the purchase of the Ocean Princess for £52 million.

We have seen numerous buy outs in the cruise industry in previous years and can’t help but feel that soon there will not be any independent cruise lines out there. Will over 80% of the cruise industry either being owned by Carnival, Royal Caribbean and NCL, there really isn’t much market share left.

I really hope that the acquisition of smaller, more intimate cruise lines by these companies that often feel bigger is better doesn’t strip them of their identity and charm that their customers love so much.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the cruise industry : )
