Hello December.

Well November drew to a close and was a busier month than I expected. This time of year tends to be very quiet for us in the travel industry with the small matter of Christmas seemingly taking over everything. I know in my household we popped the tree up on Friday (1st) as it should be, although my social media feeds appear full of pictures of trees going up and plenty of wine being consumed in the construction.

So then, I have often wondered why we get so quiet in the travel industry at this time of year. Whilst I appreciate a holiday is a big expense, as is Christmas, why not combine to 2 and treat a loved one to a holiday. Win win. You get to give an incredible gift that you also benefit from. Perfect.

For the first time in my 15 years in travel, I actually think I am going to enjoy some down time and I actually feel like I am pretty much already prepared for our busiest time of year which pretty much kicks off on January 1st, by which stage we are all fed up of turkey and the post Christmas blues kick in, so, in we come, to give you something brilliant to look forward to.

I normally get bored in December and start questioning why oh why I work in an industry with such a quiet period, but this year I think I am actually going to enjoy this year. I think it may be an age thing, but also 2017 has been a busy old year for me, so I am going to thoroughly take advantage of this years slump. Pop my feet up, get my wrapping done and gradually gain weight over the next 4 weeks.

Hope you all have as enjoyable month as me!!
