Back to normality! Boooo!!

So after having 10 days out of the office, I have had to log on for the first time today since our rather lovely trip to France. There are very few down sides to my job, however, 456 unread emails is a bit of a killer after relaxing my typing fingers for such a length of time! Anyway, we very much enjoyed our week’s stay in a little place called Fort Mahon Plage, and as it turned out, I had booked us onto a Centre Parcs site for the week. Great for the day, but the evening offering was very none existent. Luckily we were housed next to a family with a very similar outlook and sense of humour to ourselves, so we thoroughly enjoyed sitting out, enjoying a beverage or 2 and having a good old giggle whilst the kids played and explored. Perfect.

The trip started with the 2 and a half hour drive down to Folkestone, all very smooth. Arrived at the Eurotunnel to be advised of an hour delay! Just our luck, it did give us chance to stretch our legs and grab a coffee though.

The crossing and the drive from Calais to Fort Mahon Plage was a dream, the roads are pretty much empty and have an 80mph speed limit, happy days. We located a supermarket as we were driving in which put my mind at rest, and eventually found the reception, checked in, and found where we would be living for the week.

We were happy!!

The site had a decent swimming pool with slides and a wave machine and had indoor and outdoor sections, the only problem encountered was LYCRA must be worn. As a normal Brit, I do not own any Speedos, so got suitably ripped off paying 20 Euros for some Lycra shorts, never to be worn again. Judging by the amount of us in the same swim wear, I definitely was not the only one!!
