Do you want to know a secret?…

If you are fairly new to cruising you may not know this but you might be missing out.

I’m going to let you in on a couple of secrets ….

When you book an inside cabin, you of course have no window no natural light. What I do is turn your TV on and find the channel that shows you the bridge cam. That way you virtually have an outside cabin… ish!

One of my first things, is to ask the house keeping person to get me a dressing gown, they often don’t have them in the cabin but once you ask within minutes a fluffy white robe is there waiting for you.

When you embark and are settled in and ready for a bite to eat, don’t just go straight to the buffet restaurant. The first day is always a great day to try the speciality restaurants for a reduced price or sometimes even free. I experienced this on the Royal Princess, we ate at the gorgeous Sabatini’s for lunch with no additional service charge!

When you are in the main restaurant for tea (dinner If you do not understand Yorkshire) Do not think that you must order one thing. This is your chance to try all the wonderful foods available you could have a main meal made as a starter. Or two mains if you fancied lobster and steak or just order 4 desserts the choice is yours!

Do you like a glass of wine with you evening meal but find that a bottle would cost you less? Now I’m not encouraging you to drink the bottle in one sitting just to save a few pounds. What I would do is ask the waiter to store the wine for you, they will pop your cabin number on the bottle and its there waiting for you the next night.

If you want to use the spa but find the prices a bit high, a great tip is to go on a port day. You will often find they offer reduce prices and special offers on these days. Great if you have been to the port many times, and are happy to enjoy a relaxing cruise life when the ship is empty.

These are just a couple of things I have learnt and I’m sure there are MANY more.

I would love to hear all about your tips and secrets… I promise I won’t tell anyone else ?

Keep Cruising,

Bonvoyage with Bonnie xx
