Does Everyone like a Big One?

Big or Small? I can see benefits of both, but I would say the bigger the better.

Of course, I’m referring to cruise ships, everyone has they favourite. What is your preference?

Big ship Vs small Ship

I love the big ships. Due to the size you know you will have lots of places to eat, and different bars to try each night. The entertainment is normally more of a WOW production. I love watching a ‘west end style’ show, in one of the amazing theatres. The big ships offer many activities, like Royal Caribbean with an actual ice rink on-board or a rock-climbing wall. If you sit and think about the facilities on these larger ships it is insane! Okay the larger ships may resemble a block of flats more than a Cruise ship, and you certainly feel small stood next to one. Once on-board, I find you forget just how big the ship is, unless you take the wrong lift and end up at the opposite end to where your cabin is, you then realise how big the thing is!

Is it a ship or a building?

I have a lot of customers who would always choose a smaller ship. The feedback I get is firstly the ship, resembles a ship. They also prefer the intimate vibe on-board; the experience is friendlier as you do see the same people. A great positive to a smaller ship is that you can get right into the ports that the big ships cannot. Which is great as it means less tenders or less coach transfers to the main town centre. The entertainment may be a bit low key, like a pianist playing power ballads in the bar. Most of the smaller ships will offer varied entertainment but nowhere near the on the same scale as the biggies. The quality of the food and service is amazing as you would expect from any cruise holiday. Most smaller ships, will still give you a choice of a main restaurant, buffet and a specialist restaurant.

What are your thoughts? Big or Small?

I think after writing this, I might have to do some more investigating. In fact, I had better book a couple more cruises for myself. Just for research purposes of course! 🙂

Keep Cruising, Love Bonnie x
