Virgin Cruises on Sale

This week Richard Bransons Scarlet Lady has gone on sale for Virgin Cruises. Richard Branson has never even been on a cruise ship and apparently told reporters last week  “Ive never fancied a cruise ship”.  although starting  a cruiseline is something he had been thinking about for a long time. You can now book for the maiden voyage in April 2020 with a lot of exciting cabins to choose from with Inside, Seaview, Sea Terrace ( a balcony cabin to the normal cruiser!) and even Rock Star Suites and Mega Rock Star Suites. All cabins will feature mood lighting which adjusts to the time of day and roomy rainshowers in the bathrooms.

There will be 3 types of inside cabins, Solo Insider for singles, The Insider which will sleep upto 3 people and the Social Insider for upto 4 people. The Solo cabins will be 105 sq ft and the insider and Social Insder will be 177 Sq Ft.

There will be 2 types of Seaview cabins with a Solo Seview at 130 sq ft and The Sea View with a capacity of upto 3 people will be 190 sq ft

There will be 4 types of Sea Terrace cabins. There will be a limited View Sea Terrace that  will sleep upto  4 people and these will be 330 sq ft. The Sea Terrace will sleep upto 4 people and will be 280 sq ft. The Central Sea Terrace will sleep upto 3 people and be 330sq ft and an XL Sea Tearrace will sleep upto 3 people and will be 370 sq ft.

The biggest selection of cabins is in the Rock Star Suites with 8 different grades to choose from.

Seriously Suite – 420 sq ft – capacity 2

Sweet Aft Suites: Pretty Big Terrace – 596 sq ft -capacity 2

Sweet Aft Suites: Even Bigger Terrace -684 sq ft – capacity 2

Sweet Aft Suites: Biggest Terrace – 880 sq ft – capacity 2

Cheeky Corner Suite: Pretty Big Terrace – 919 sq ft – capacity 2

Cheeky Corner Suite: Even Bigger Terrace – 1009 sq ft – capacity 2

Cheeky Corner Suite: Biggest Terrace -1195 sq ft – capacity 2

Brilliant Suite – 568 sq ft – capacity 4

All of the Sea Terrace cabins as well as the suites will have hammocks in the  signature red colour of Virgin on the balconies along with the traditional balcony chairs and table or sunloungers.

The ship will be adult only and will also include free wifi and no buffet restaurants. Instead there will be 20 different restaurants to choose from and trhese will all be included in the cost. This will give passengers a great choice and they wont have to worry about paying a cover charge like other cruiselines.

The only dissapointing thing I feel is that the intial sailings will only be for 4 or 5 nights from Miami  visiting the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Mexico on different itineraries.

Lets wait and see what else they will have to offer when more details are released!
