Thats Entertainment!

One of my favourite things whilst I’m on a cruise is the entertainment. I have recently returned from a cruise on Symphony of the Seas, which I did back to back with NCL Epic and  we were lucky to see some fantastic shows.

Whilst we were on Symphony of the Seas we seen 4 different shows and its great knowing that these are all absolutely free.

Hairspray the Musical was brilliantly acted and was as good, If not better, than you would see in the Westend of London on or Broadway in New York. The show is a winner of 8 Tony Awards and 11 Laurence Olivier Awards and returned to Royal Caribbean on Symphony after being on Oasis of the Seas. The show is also currently on tour in the UK but it was great to see it at Sea and not have to pay anything!

We also got to see 2 Ice shows whist we were onboard. One of the shows we were able to pre-book before we sailed and the other one was announced when we were onboard but that was  was first come first served. 1977 was the show with reservations and I’m glad that we booked as there were a lot of disappointed people waiting to see if they could get in if someone didn’t turn up for their reservation. This was a story of a dimension hopping hero, Tempus, who’s mission was to catch the infamous jewel thief “Black Max”. The story started in London in 1977 and you didn’t  know where it was going to take you.

The second Ice show was called 2:0 and was based on different music genres and again had amazing costumes and ice dancing with tricks too

Hiro was probably one of my favourite shows which was the show at the Aqua theatre, you just didn’t know where to look. Apart from the synchronised swimmers there were  divers that were diving off high boards into the pool, which isn’t that big, so they had to be accurate with every dive. This was combined with a theatrical production with cutting edge technology and futurist technology. There were people on wires overhead and there was even a tightrope walker 10 of metres above our heads.

Whilst we were on NCL EPIC we also got to see 2 amazing shows. Pricilla Queen of the Desert was on in the theatre and the costumes, stage set and music was brilliant. Again you would have paid good money to see it in theatres at home and this is included free of charge.

Burn the Floor was also on in the theatre and although we had seen it before on Epic and Getaway I couldn’t resist seeing it again and in fact we went to see it twice.

If we had paid to see these shows anywhere else we wouldn’t have seen much change out of £700-£800 for the 2 of us and that’s what makes cruising with all it has to offer great value for money.

What’s your favourite show you have seen at Sea?
