New Builds for Saga Cruises

Saga Cruises are investing in 2 New Ships, Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure and this is a first for the Company. Previous ships have  come to Saga from other companies so this will be a great investment for them. I have always thought of Saga Cruises and Holidays for the older market as they are always marketed for the “over 50’s” but this infact is not true, as only 1 passenger in the cabin has to be over 50.  Saga are great value for money with a lot of things included in the cost and here are some facts:

Gross Tonnage 58,250 tonnes

999 Guest capacity (Double Occupancy)

517 Crew

774.3 Feet Overall length

102.4 maximum Beam

The ships will boast all Balcony cabins with various types available. There will be Single Standard, Superior, Deluxe and Suites and the same for Double Occupancy. All of the cabins will include Double beds, even the Single Cabins.

Spirit of Discovery launching  2019 – Dining will be in open service between 7pm and 9pm and there will be choice of the Grand Dining Room or Speciality Dining Options which  will will also be complimentary on both ships  The Grill will be a buffet at lunchtime and then in the evening the waiters will serves dishes ” a la minute” and you will be able to watch them prepare the meals right infront of your eyes.

East to West is an Asian Restaurant and Coast to Coast is a Seafood Restaurant  and these are the speciality restaurants that are included. Wine will be included at each mealtime  at no extra charge.

Spirit of Adventure launching Summer 2020 – The dining arrangements will be the same as Spirit of Discovery but will have different speciality restaurants. Khukuri House will be the first Nepalese restaurant at sea and Amalfi will be an Italian serving high end cuisine.

All of the below will also be included:

All snacks and daily afternoon tea

All Onboard tips and bar srvice charges

Full Programme of live entertainment, live music and talks

Gym, Sauna and excercise classes

24 hour room service

Free Wi Fi

Private Chauffer Service is provided upto 75 miles each way and a shared service is provided from 76-250 miles each way.

An added bonus will be that in 2020 both ships will include unlimited selection of drinks from a choice of wines with meals to house branded spirits, beers and soft drinks in all the bars and lounges

I think these luxury ships will be hugely popular with people who like the small ship experience with everything included and sailing from the Uk from Southampton and Dover will be a huge draw for people. Watch this space as Im sure they will be giving the other smaller ships a run for their money
