Its all happening in Southampton in 2020

In September we had the new P&O ship Iona  go on sale for 2020 with its 7 night sailings from Southampton for the whole season from May to September. This seems like  a distant memory now all the excitement of launch has died down , but now for long. It has been announced that Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas will be returning to Southampton in 2020  and this will be the first time she has been back since 2015. These will be going on sale later this month, 4-5 months earlier than normal as these wouldnt normally be on sale until March 2019. I loved my time on Anthem of the Seas back in 2015 so I definately think I’ll be trying to get another cruise booked on her. 

The second of the revolutionary Edge Class ships – Celebrity Apex – will be sailing from Southampton in April 2020 for its first ever cruises. Boasting some of the most luxurious accommodations in the fleet, Celebrity Apex will offer Edge Staterooms with Infinite Balcony and twin level Edge Villas with outdoor plunge pools, to name a few. Add to this 29 world-class culinary venues, of which 7 are brand new speciality restaurants, and signature spaces such as the incredible Magic Carpet and Rooftop Garden, and you have a ship that elevates modern luxury cruising to new heights. Celebrity Apex will be available to book from 29th November 2018

Princess have also announched that their newest ship currently being built, Enchanted Princess  will be in Southampton. This will be Princess’s fifth Royal Class ship which is currently under construction at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard in Italy. She will hold 3660 passengers and come in at 143,7000 tons. She will join Royal Princess, Regal Princess, Majestic Princess and Sky Princess (debuting in 2019) in the cruise line’s Royal Class. A sixth, to-be-named, Royal Class ship also will debut in 2021.

On top on these new comers there will be all of the P&O ships except Oceana sailing from Southampton and also the Cunard Ships and Fred Olsen.

If nothing else there will be plenty to pick from in 2020!
