No more sitters at sea….

For those of you who have taken advantage of the in cabin baby sitting service on board Royal Caribbean , I have some bad news for you. From the 30th September 2018 Royal will no longer offer this private service , Sitters at Sea.

The decision to eliminate the service is a result of not being able to consistently meet the demand for private sitters on every sailing, the line said in a statement on its website.

Traditionally, sitters have been available on a first come, first served basis, with reservations available only by visiting the guest services desk.

Royal Caribbean was one of the last cruise lines to offer in-cabin babysitting. The line still offers the day- and nighttime Royal Babies & Tots drop-off program, as well as nighttime “Late Night Party Zone” group babysitting, both for an extra fee.

It’s a shame they have decided to do this as I think that it was a really good idea for families who were travelling with young children and gave them a little chance to have a nice romantic evening .

Not every night but a little date night on holiday when you have kids is sometimes a nice little treat.

I love having family holidays and my children are happy to go off and find new friends and have adventures at the kids clubs but equally they like to spend time with us as well and we have a good balance.

What do you think, would you use sitters on a cruise or you think it’s a good idea to scrap it.??
