My Rainbow Weekend and builders in the buff……

Well what a very colourful , sparkly and glittery weekend I have just had!!

My boys have been down to Brighton for the week visiting family so we decided to take a drive down there to pick them up and stay the night. This has been arranged for  quite a while now but what we didn’t realise was that this weekend just so happened to coincide with Brighton Pride.

I have never been before so had no idea what it would be like, and wow it was really a blast of bright colours  , love  ,music and lots of smiling happy people.

We lined the street with our rainbow flower garlands and waited in anticipation for the floats to come. We were not disappointed as the first one out was a dragon float made up entirely of rainbow coloured balloons. The second float had lots of dancers busting some moves and clouds of purple smoke pumping out.

But my favorite float had to be the builders in the buff…Im sure you can use your imaginations as to why…

Brighton and Hove Pride is an annual event held in the city of Brighton and HoveEngland, organised by Brighton Pride, a community interest company (CIC) who promote equality and diversity, and advance education to eliminate discrimination against the lesbiangaybisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

The major event is an annual summer festival held in the first week of August, which usually consists of a parade through the city centre, a festival event in Preston Park, the Gay Village Party and other club parties. Since 2013, it has also included an Arts and Film Festival and a Pride Dog Show.

The main thing that struck me was the atmosphere. Everybody was waving to us from the floats and people were dancing to the music in the street and just generally loving life.

I have only ever been to Brighton once before along time ago and really fell in love with the place.

The beach there is a pebbled beach but with the current heatwave we are experiencing this didn’t matter at all and my three children spent the rest of the day in and out of the sea.

There was also a beautiful park on the seafront with a lido for the children and it was beautifully kept and  really clean.

So if this lovely weather keeps up and you fancy going somewhere different for a weekend then try Brighton. They have loads of lovely places to eat and lots for the kids to do with the new pier. They also have the brand new I360 which is a fantastic fully enclosed glass  viewing pod  which glides up slowly to 450ft to enjoy breath-taking 360° views of Brighton and the South coast.

As you all know I do love a good cruise but its also nice to have little weekend breaks in this country too , so lets make the most of this glorious sunshine and visit some lovey places in the UK as well.
