Iona bringing Sequins and Sparkle to the seas ….

Sequins , sparkle and the foxtrot ….Its all coming to the brand new P&O Iona ship , as they reveal that the Strictly Come Dancing entertainment experience is coming on board.

For selected summer 2020 sailings, the well known faces from the BBC’s show will take over The Limelight Club- an intimate supper club.

P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow said: “Our stunning new Iona, and the glitz and glamour of Strictly Come Dancing – it’s a combination that’s sure to create memorable moments for our guests.

We can’t wait for our special Strictly guests to join us on board and share their experiences of the entertainment show that has captured the hearts of the nation.

It is another great reason to holiday with P&O Cruises, getting guests closer to amazing experiences and iconic destinations in the Norwegian Fjords next summer.”

So for all you strictly lovers out there it means that you can enjoy an evening of diner and dancing with strictly special duets and pro dance couples.

When the dancing finishes there will also be an opportunity for a question and answer session for all those burning questions you might have. Whats your favourite dance , how many sequins are used in one whole series of strictly and is Bruno really that flamboyant in real life ??

Added to the Strictly Come Dancing themed cruises aboard Britannia, Ventura and Azura in 2020, it’s a full schedule of Strictly Come Dancing shows, classes, meet and greets and more on P&O Cruises.”

I think that it is a great idea to have a themed event on a cruise  , especially something like Strictly. Its so fun and lively and will be a great experience onboard.

A lot of people who cruise love to dance and many a time I have been on board a cruise and seen some amazing dancing on the dance floor by guests who obviously dance frequently at home.

A cruise is a great chance for them to show off their skills.

Unfortunately not all clients feel like this as my colleague recently had a client who wanted to cancel his cruise when he found out about the strictly theme. He said the whole idea of it all put him off the cruise , but to be honest the cruise ships are so big and these events are held in specific places on board so if you don’t want anything to do with it all then you really don’t have to.

I ,  on the other hand think its great thing to have on a cruise and now have the theme tune stuck in my head  just from writing this blog…..Du du du du du du dahhhhh dudu du du dahh !!
