My mini Indy trip…

I am hanging up my headset ,  putting on my out of office for a little three night break on the Independence of the seas.

We are off with a group of friends to have some nice food , a few cheeky cocktails and a nice relaxing break.

I always feel guilty leaving the kids behind but have booked a few days off when we get back to do some fun things in the school holidays with them.

I first went on this ship when she was launched back in 2008 ,  so ten years on and after a huge multi million dollar refurb , it will be interesting to see the ship again.

I am a firm favourite of Royal Caribbean and have been on quite a lot of their ships over the years. They for me have everything I would want on a cruise. They have the wow factor as soon as you step onboard and there is so much to keep you entertained and you can really get immersed in it all.

The ice skating shows are brilliant , the shows are always full of glitz and glam and the bars and cabaret acts are always so entertaining. They have the best pub onboard any ships i have been on before and spending a few hours in The Dog and Badger, people watching down the royal promenade is always good fun.

With the refurb lots of new and exciting features have been added to the ship such as sugar beach candy store , the splashaway bay , the laser tag and escape room to name but a few.

My friends have never cruised before so I am feeling a bit nervous and hope that it lives up to their expectations. I have really sold it to them and how brilliant cruising is so I just hope that they feel the same , but to be honest what’s not to love about the Indy. She is always a firm favourite with a lot of customers and she always sells very well , especially in the school holidays.

We are going over to the mini cruise favourites Le Harve and Bruges so it will be nice to get off and show them around these pretty ports.

I will make sure to take lots of pictures of the ship and share my experiences with you guys when I get back. I promise it will be a selection of photos and not just me sampling every cocktail on the menu.

Happy cruising people…
