What was Celebrity Edge like?

I was on Celebrity Edge last month and must say what a great experience! If you get the chance to book either Edge or Apex, get it done, as Celebrity have really pushed the envelope with this ship.

Public areas are all really spacious and give a modern style to the ship.

The pools are all great sizes and the number of loungers far exceeds many other ships I have been on. There is a fabulous outdoor running track, untested by me but really nice idea from the designers.

The entertainment was cutting edge with the main theatre being a real highlight for me with a central stage, Computer generated images on huge screens behind the performers, space for musicians behind the screens that pull back and aerial performances that rival anything else I have seen on land or sea.

The rooms where amazing and had the best of everything from USB charging, huge flat screen TV, terrific shower and stylish bathrooms, plenty of storage and our balcony had the possibility to have doors open, closed and balcony up of down. I have only seen these on river cruises up until now. Although there was a really loud squeek when it was used…

The casino was big enough to be in Las Vegas and although quiet on our sailing I guess would be much busier with clients on. I loved ‘The Club’ where there were activities both during the day and late into the night.

Celebrity really had a great area for the photography and future cruise desks which gives a chance to browse and book onboard.

Food was so good in the sit down restaurants and the selection at the buffet was also truly amazing. Not enough room on my plate though…

Magic Carpet? yes or no? for me it is a big YES. The idea is quite mad but it works. Restaurant at night, bar or private function area during sea days. and easy peasy tender operations. What could possibly be better.
